Local Transport Strategy

We have commissioned transport consultants AECOM to develop the next North Lanarkshire Local Transport Strategy (LTS) which will cover the period 2025-2035.

The main aim of the strategy is to set out how we will develop and maintain transport infrastructure within North Lanarkshire over the ten-year period 2025 to 2035. It will also support Scottish targets to travel less by car, to reduce carbon emissions and to encourage more walking, wheeling and cycling.

We are keen to hear from you and the key problems, issues and opportunities relating to transport and travel across North Lanarkshire that you are currently experiencing. AECOM will then use this information to help shape the vision and objectives of the LTS. It will also be used to inform our Local Development Plan 2, which is currently being developed.

Comments can be provided by completing the online survey below.

This can be accessed from Monday 18 November 2024 until 11:59pm on Friday 20 December 2024. Paper copies of the survey can be requested by emailing NorthLanarkshireLTS@aecom.com, with “LTS” as the email subject. Surveys will also be available to complete at NLC libraries.
