Proposed Environmental Improvements at Stewart Crescent, Newmains

North Lanarkshire Council, in terms of Section 37 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 and Section 6 of the Roads (Traffic Calming) (Scotland) Regulations 1994 and the Local Authorities Traffic Orders (Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 1999, hereby gives notice of its intention to install environmental improvement measures on Stewart Crescent, Newmains to improve road safety within the area and to enhance the safe passage of school children and their guardians to and from the new St Brigid’s and Newmains Primary School.

The proposal is to install a total of three speed tables.  Two speed tables would be installed along the length of Stewart Crescent and 1 speed table would be installed in the private access road, off Stewart Crescent.  The speed tables will measure 5.3 metres long with a flat top length of 3 metres and extend to the width of the road.  The speed tables will be constructed in asphalt to a maximum height of 75 millimetres above the adjacent road surface.

Any person wishing to make representations or raise an objection on the proposals must do so in writing to the Head of Legal and Democratic Solutions, North Lanarkshire Council, Civic Centre, Windmillhill Street, Motherwell ML1 1AB or to the email address noted above, no later than Wednesday, 3 August 2022 and must contain the name and address of the objector, the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made.
