Notice is hereby given that North Lanarkshire Council proposes to consider the introduction of a Traffic Regulation Order, the effect of which will be to introduce parking controls to each of the car parks listed below.
Car parks affected:
- Hallcraig Street (West) Car Park (Airdrie)
- Summerlee (West) Car Park (Coatbridge)
- Summerlee (East) Car Park (Coatbridge)
- King Street (South) Car Park (Kilsyth)
- King Street (North) Car Park (Kilsyth)
- Pollock Street (West) Car Park (Motherwell)
- Motherwell Station Parking and Ride Car Park (East) (Motherwell)
- Motherwell Station Park and Ride Car Park (West) (Motherwell)
Typically, the parking restrictions proposals in these car parks will prohibit:
- Abuse of disabled bays by non-blue badge holders
- Abuse of EV charging bays by non-EV vehicles
- Use of car park outwith official opening times (where opening hours apply)
- Parking outwith marked bays
- HGV parking
Full details of these proposals, which form the proposed North Lanarkshire Council (Off-Street) (Traffic Regulation) Order together with plans and a statement of reasons, are available for download, or alternatively a hard copy is available for inspection during normal office hours, Monday to Friday inclusive*, at the office of the Chief Officer (Legal and Democratic), North Lanarkshire Council, Civic Centre, Windmillhill Street, Motherwell ML1 1AB.
Any person wishing to make representations in support of, or raise an objection to, the proposals must do so in writing to the Chief Officer (Legal and Democratic), North Lanarkshire Council, Civic Centre, Windmillhill Street, Motherwell ML1 1AB or to the email address troconsultation@northlan.gov.uk no later than Friday, 19 January 2024 and must contain the name and address of the person making the representation/objection, the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made.
*Please note that due to the festive period, council offices will be closed from Friday, 22 December 2023 until Wednesday, 3 January 2024 therefore the consultation has been extended to accommodate this.
