Community Safety - Antisocial Behaviour
Project was to work as a group to help discourage antisocial behaviour and the use of off-road bikes in public parks, utilising the community groups Quad bikes.
How did the project come about?
The local Community advised of the issues of antisocial behaviour caused by the use off-road bike and Quad bikes, with one of the main areas being Barons Haugh Nature reserve. An action plan was put in place with Police Scotland working closely with North Lanarkshire CCTV with the help of community intelligence during this period.
What was the outcome?
Action plan covering several weeks, officers stopped and identified several youths for the illegal use of off road-road Quads and motor bikes. Resulting in ten off road bikes seized and several individuals reported for various offences.
