Proposal to relocate Glenboig Primary School to a new school build

The proposal is that Glenboig Primary School be relocated from the existing shared campus with Our Lady & St Joseph’s Primary School to a new building on a nearby new site.

The reason for the proposal

Due to the growing increased population within the Glenboig catchment area, primarily due to the Community Growth Area which is a strategic development for housing within this part of North Lanarkshire. There is insufficient capacity at the existing joint campus to provide adequate provision for the projected number of pupils at both existing schools.

A public consultation will be held on Thursday 28 November 2024 at Glenboig Primary School.

From Monday 4 November until Monday 16 December, you can email the team regarding the proposal.

Changes to the proposal

A new redline boundary is provided to consider the best location of the establishment whilst preserving the remainder of the site for other use in the future.

The removal of the Language and Communication Support Centre and Early Learning and Childcare provision.

The removal of the erroneous bullet point in section 4.1 mentioning St Kevin’s and Bargeddie.

Email address has been updated.
