The Catering School

Who are we?

The Catering School is an established hospitality training provider and has been working in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council delivering hospitality courses within mainstream and ASN schools for more than 15 years.  During the last 5 years we have also been working with schools in the Glasgow area delivering similar projects.

What do we do?

Our qualified staff have extensive industry experience of working within the hospitality sector delivering vocational qualifications up to and including management level.

We have developed courses designed to be delivered within schools,  teaching pupils, basic food preparation and cookery skills, learning the importance of good food hygiene practices and raising awareness of the importance of eating a healthy and well-balanced diet.

What is our session about?

Our aim is to give pupils the opportunity to undertake practical cookery sessions, learning various food preparation and cookery processes.

Pupils with gain skills on how to cook on a budget, costing a menu and about the benefits of eating a healthy and well-balanced diet.

Pupils will have a better understanding of the hospitality industry and the various career options available.

What will you gain from attending?

Pupils will have learned basic food preparation and cookery skills.

Gained knowledge on how to cook on a budget.

Gain knowledge and understanding of the benefits of eating a healthy and well-balanced diet.

Gained an insight into working within the hospitality industry and the various career options available.

Pupils will be given copies of the recipes contained within a booklet at the end of the course.
