Bellshill Local Outcome Improvement Plan highlights

Laburnum Road Footbridge & Environment

A community project focusing on community safety as well as community resilience and participation.

How did it come about?

The project idea arose after consultation with over 30 local residents and greenspace users who live in the vicinity of the Laburnum Road. The Community Partnership Officer made site visits with community members who highlighted issues such as fly-tipping and unsafe access to the Glen via the bridge.

What was the outcome?

The project contributes to the community resilience and participation Local Outcome Improvement Plan action to make the best use of shared assets and resources through coordination of local engagement activity and plans, by supporting the development of a capital project through Local Development Project resources.

It also contributes to identifying local action to address fires and wheelie bin fires, the issue of off-road bikes, fly-tipping, and dog fouling.

Local Outcome Improvement Plan subgroups were supportive of this project in addressing the highlighted problems in the area.
