Bellshill Local Outcome Improvement Plan highlights

Community Engagement - St Andrews United Free Church

Focusing on community resilience and participation through community engagement events.

How did it come about?

The Community Partnership Officer engaged with St Andrew's United Free Church to support them in applying for funds to host community events which would provide local people access to information, support and advice from several organisations.

What was the outcome?

Two events took place across February and March. They provided a number of local people access to information and advice from several organisations, including the council’s Community Partnership Team, Tackling Poverty Team and Community Learning & Development (CLD) Adult Learning. Also in attendance included Citizens Advice Bureau, Making Life Easier, Home Energy Scotland, Lanarkshire Carers, Police Scotland, Routes to Work and National Health Service (NHS) Health Improvement.

As well as the advice on hand, the Community Partnership team also provided soup packs and recipes, a small number of remaining packs were donated to local foodbanks.
