As the summer break approaches and we reach the end of another term, staff in schools and centres across North Lanarkshire are being thanked for everything they do to support our young people.

School inspectors have praised staff and pupils at St. Edward’s Primary School, Airdrie, following a glowing inspection, recognising the supportive and positive nurturing ethos and learning environment across the school and the nursery class. 

The project aims to shine a spotlight on Airdrie's distinctive heritage and historical significance, such as its role as the home of Scotland's first public library and the birthplace of the world's inaugural penalty kick. Despite Airdrie's proud history, it remains relatively unknown to many individuals.

A new ocean themed play area is open at Strathclyde Country Park, next to the beach car park.

A new transport hub at Muir Street, Motherwell is open and providing improved facilities for residents, visitors and businesses.
