The Provost
The Provost of the Council is Councillor Kenneth Duffy.
The Provost is the civic head of the council and also chairs meetings of the full council.
As civic head, the Provost meets with visitors and dignitaries to the area and represents the council and the people of North Lanarkshire at all kinds of events.
Assisted by the Depute Provost, Councillor Bob Burgess, he regularly visits residents celebrating 100th birthdays, diamond weddings and hosts civic receptions and recognition.
