Bogside, Kirklands, and Barrie Place TARA identified a need for lighting across Bogside Park.  CPT met with the tenants and residents to discuss the solar lighting and support the group to put together a LDP proposal form that was submitted to the Projects Team.

Feasibility checks were carried out by Projects Team and a consultation was carried out with residents surrounding the park to identify if there was local support for the project.  Feedback from residents was positive and identified that there was a need for solar lighting across Bogside Park.
 

The project provided solar lighting across Bogside Park.  Feedback from the local community had been amazing in relation to the impact this project has had on the local area.  

Local people have reported that they are more able to use the park after dark as the lighting has made them feel safer and more able to use this. Feedback from young people has been that the lighting is ‘Awesome!’.
