North Lanarkshire’s Footprint

North Lanarkshire is the fourth most populated local authority in Scotland. For every person who lives in the area the equivalent of 5.3 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) is emitted.

The carbon footprint includes more than CO2 such as methane, nitrous oxide and hydrofluorocarbons. Below is a summary of the North Lanarkshire emissions that make up the total footprint of 2,636.76 kilotonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (ktco2e).
