Public processions

Introduction

How to object to or comment on a public procession

If you want to object to or comment on a proposed public procession or its route, you can do so in writing by email or post.

We must receive this objection at least 14 days before the date of the proposed public procession.

However, for proposed public processions in July we must receive the objection at least six weeks before the date of the proposed public procession.

How to receive notifications of proposed public processions

We keep a list of organisations and individuals who receive regular updates about public processions. This is called the opt-in list. The aim of this list is to allow you to plan better and work around any problems that could be caused by the public procession, such as traffic problems.

We can send this notification by email or letter.

As soon as we receive notice of a public procession we publish this on our website.

If you or your organisation wants to be included in the opt-in list for public processions taking place within your local area then please contact us in writing by email or post.
