Introduction
We're creating new opportunities for employment and business.
What are we planning to do?
We're planning to build a new roundabout along the A8 across from the old Shanks and McEwan site, and invest in sustainable transport improvements for Eurocentral, Maxim Office Park and Newhouse. .
These will support the growth and development at local business locations along this route.
Complementing others' good work
The project adds value to the Scottish Government's recent investment in motorways - and builds on the work delivered by Transport Scotland through the M8/M73/M74 motorway improvements, including the upgrade of seven miles of new motorway between Baillieston and Newhouse.
A number of walking and cycling routes are also being provided, thanks to funding from Strathclyde Passenger Transport (SPT) and Sustrans.
Our investment means that North Lanarkshire residents will benefit even more from this by providing better access to new employment opportunities.
The project will support the local economy and help create a more joined-up transport network, to enable the sustainable movement of people and goods.
