The first trials of new materials designed to reduce carbon in the roads industry have taken place in North Lanarkshire with more planned for 2025.

As we look forward to the festive season, I wish to reflect on what has been another busy year for our communities. Serving as Lord Lieutenant for Lanarkshire continues to be an immense privilege, and I am continually inspired by the resilience, kindness, and unity that define Lanarkshire.

Children and families in Millerston celebrated the official opening of the new Dunalistair Park play area on 13 December.

This year we've completed 335 new homes as part of our council house build programme and delivered community benefits providing jobs, training and projects to improve the lives of local people. 

Our Tenants’ Conference was the perfect setting for launching our new Tenant Participation Strategy ‘For Tenants by Tenants’, which outlines how we’ll support tenant participation.
