Our cemetery service memorial team is responsible for inspecting memorials, recording details of the inspection and making safe, where necessary, in compliance with current legislation and guidance from the Institute of Cemetery and Cremation Management.

Individual cemetery teams install foundations in accordance with the National Association of memorial Masons Code of Working Practice and North Lanarkshire Council's Memorial Masons Registration Scheme.

Actions taken to contain unsafe memorials include fencing off and banding of the memorial.

Staff have been trained to National Standards in Cemetery Maintenance and Memorial Inspection procedures.
