We are now moving forward with the proposals for the future development of the South Cumbernauld Community Growth Area. This is a new housing area for Cumbernauld which will be developed over planned phases.
The Strategic Development Framework (SDF) and Concept Statement for South Cumbernauld provide the detailed information required to develop the area in the best way possible. These documents are available on our South Cumbernauld Community Growth Area page.
Following the completion of the stage 1 public consultation we have considered the information collected from the public event at the Muirfield Centre, survey and other representations.

Our Estates Service working with Barton Willmore, now Stantec, has updated the proposals. If you wish to learn more Barton Willmore, now Stantec, will host a consultation event at the Muirfield community facility. The event will take place on Thursday 30 March from 1pm to 8pm.
The second consultation period will run from Thursday 30 March to Wednesday 26 April. If you would like to comment on the amended proposals please take part in our survey below.
