As a council, we are fully committed to offering support to the military community, veterans and their families here in North Lanarkshire.
As proud signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant, we are focused on helping members of the Armed Forces community to access the same support and services as everyone else.
This covers areas including education, financial advice, housing, employment opportunities and careers advice and health and wellbeing.
We are also part of the Lanarkshire Armed Forces Community and Veterans Covenant Group, which was created in partnership with our colleagues at South Lanarkshire Council following a request by the Royal Regiment of Scotland for an Armed Forces Covenant to be established.
The organisation is the lead for delivering the key commitments contained in both councils’ Armed Forces Community Covenants to ensure that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
Lanarkshire Armed Forces Community and Veterans Covenant Group was established by the Ministry of Defence to develop the delivery of policy and funding to support the military community and veterans in Scotland.
A website and handbook have been created to signpost relevant information and contact details to support the military community and veterans.
