Invitation to Empower and Elevate: Let's Work Together to End Poverty Event in Antonine Shopping Centre

A cost-of-living event has been held within the Antonine Centre in line with the Cumbernauld Local Outcome Improvement Plan.

How did the project come about?

The event was planned then delivered by Cornerstone House Centre in partnership with the Community Partnership Team, Cumbernauld Community Board and Antonine Shopping Centre. 

As part of Challenge Poverty Week, a range of over 20 stallholders from the voluntary, statutory and private sectors provided information and advice to support local people. There was a focus on supporting people during the current cost of living crisis.
 

What was the outcome?

Over 500 local people accessed provision on a range of issues, including:

  • Benefit and debt advice
  • Access to free period products
  • Energy-saving tips and advice on keeping warm at home
  • Mental health and well-being support
  • Employability and career opportunities
  • Carer support
  • Learning opportunities
