Hadden Group recruited six new employees in total during the construction of these homes.
Hadden Group provided three career events to school pupils, one in person at Kirkshaws Primary School on Digital Technology in Construction and two virtual sessions over Microsoft Teams - a National career talk online and a talk to the St. Andrews High School pupils on careers in Construction, career pathways, CVs, job hunting and job interview questions.
These were delivered to a group of pupils in S4 & S5 aged 14 to 16 years, with a keen interest in a career in Construction. All events were presented by the Business Development Director, Stephen Lynas at Hadden Group as part of The Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2022.
In July 2021, Hadden Group donated scrap timber to Paws for Autism to build kennels. Paws for Autism trains service dogs for those challenged with neurodiversity or PTSD. These materials are vital in helping Paws for Autism to run the charity and outreach projects which helps in hospitals, such as Bellsdyke Hospital and in schools. South Wishaw Foodbank also received a donation of groceries in March 2021.
In March 2022, Hadden Group donated three pallets of brick and scrap timber to the Restorative Justice team for community projects in North Lanarkshire.
"I am pleased to see that North Lanarkshire Council's New-Supply Programme is achieving it's aims of providing a benefit to the wider community. In offering new employment opportunities and work experience to local people, our contractor is spreading the positive impact of the project - to build new homes on the care home site, beyond just those who will move into the new homes but to the broader community itself.
"During the duration of the development there were restrictions in place due to Covid-19, however Hadden found alternative solutions to continue to carry out virtual talks with pupils from local schools by attending events to discuss the construction industry and key areas within Site Safety."
- Jordan Price, Project Manager - North Lanarkshire Council
"I am pleased that we have been involved on this site and have had a positive impact on the local community in Wishaw during the construction works. Through providing employment and on-site apprenticeship training opportunities, we've managed to benefit the local workforce.
"Hadden also managed to provide non-financial support in the way of donating construction materials to charitable organisations in the area. The completed development looks great and I'm proud that Hadden could play a role in regenerating this part of Wishaw."
- Connon Penrice, Site Manager - Hadden Group LTD
