Following consultation with tenants, residents, and local elected members to identify community needs and aspirations, our contractor McTaggart Construction pledged to deliver a number of Community Benefits.
This £3.6 million development has created a total of 16 new energy efficient and adaptable modern homes for affordable rent.

Employment
McTaggart Construction recruited two new employees and one apprentice during this project.
- 1 full-time position through Paradigm Landscaping
- 1 full-time position through Advance Construction
- 1 Apprentice through Paradigm Landscaping
In addition to the new employees and apprentice, McTaggart also took on six work experience placements throughout the time they were on-site.
Career events
McTaggart Construction delivered five career events. Below is a list of schools and groups which benefited from them:
- May 2023 - McTaggart attended DYW conference.
- October 2023 - McTaggart attended the Step into Stem school event at New College Lanarkshire.
- October 2023 - McTaggart attended a targeted career event for young people with additional support needs hosted at St. Ambrose High School.
- November 2023 - McTaggart attended Our Lady's High School Careers Day. There were around 32 pupils in attendance at this event.
- November 2023 - McTaggart attended DYW Taskforce Event for school leavers and those not in a positive destination.
Supply Chain Briefing
In April 2024, Stephen Rogers, McTaggart Constructions Training Manager, attended Buchanan High School and provided advice and support to the pupils regarding SQA accreditation.
Non-financial support
- McTaggart delivered a session on Manual Handling on 31st March 2023 at Home Centre in Airdrie for 8 No Limits candidates.
- McTaggart provided Trust Housing Association with a Christmas Tree. This was planted at their Later Living/ Sheltered Housing scheme at Dunrobin Gardens, Airdrie.
