Details of how our services are operating over the festive period, including registration offices, social work services and bin collections.
Fly tipping is dumping items on public land. It can be anything from a bin bag next to a bin or a mattress or garden waste on the street, to large quantities of commercial rubbish by a roadside. It’s illegal to do this.
If you see fly tipping, you can report it and help us try to identify those responsible. Please provide as much detail as possible, including vehicle registration numbers and descriptions of the people and vehicles involved.
We monitor fly tipping hotspots with CCTV cameras and, where we have evidence, Fixed Penalty Notices are issued to those responsible.
You can dispose of household waste at any of our Household Waste Recycling Centres or book a special uplift.
Use a registered waste carrier if you’re paying someone to dispose of waste:
- check SEPA's registered waste carriers
- ask to see their waste carrier’s licence
- ask what’s going to happen to your rubbish
- make sure you get a receipt.
