Garden waste permit

A charge for garden waste collections is being introduced.

From Sunday 1 June 2025 we will charge for collecting garden waste from your brown bin. If you want to place garden waste into your brown bin you must purchase and display a valid permit on your brown bin. If you have more than one bin each individual bin will require a permit to be purchased and displayed on the bin to ensure that it is collected.

Request a garden waste permit

The annual charge will be £40 and the permit will be valid from 1 June 2025 until 31 May 2026.

If you are a council housing tenant, you do not need to apply as the service is paid for through your rent and you will automatically receive a permit before 1 June.

Please read the frequently asked questions and terms and conditions.

We are one of the last councils in Scotland to introduce this charge, and the money generated will help cover the costs of delivering the service.

You will need a Myaccount to submit a permit request. Please ensure you set this up in advance to enable you to order a permit. Delivery can take up to 21 days so please order early to ensure your permit arrives before 1 June.
