North Lanarkshire Council scooped two awards at this year's COSLA Excellence Awards - despite stiff competition across Scotland's 32 authority areas.

Residents in the Fortissat and Mossend & Holytown council wards are reminded to make sure they are registered to vote ahead of the two by-elections next month. 

The Fairtrade flag is flying at the Civic Centre in Motherwell to celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight, which runs from 9 to 22 September.

The charity Guide Dogs has benefited from the recent Reece Clarke Homecoming shows at Airdrie Town Hall by more than £10,000.

Around 200 participants, including local high schools, voluntary organisations and groups of friends, gathered for a special 7-a-side football competition at Ravenscraig Sports Facility on Wednesday 11 September to raise awareness about Suicide Prevention.
