As Covid-19 restrictions ease throughout Scotland, online workshops designed to help small businesses hit the ground running are being offered through Viridor’s Community Benefits Team across Glasgow and the Clyde Valley.

Following a successful virtual model over the past two years, which saw 226 companies sign up to the free workshops offered by Viridor, a new programme of events has been announced for Spring/Summer 2022.

Designed to support businesses across Glasgow, North Lanarkshire, East Renfrewshire, East Dunbartonshire, Renfrewshire and North Ayrshire, the workshops aim to help participants manage challenges faced due to Covid-19 and empower them with practical advice.

Viridor delivers a 25-year contract with five Scottish councils, including North Lanarkshire, for sustainable waste management of residual household waste which cannot be recycled and would otherwise be sent to landfill.

The workshop programme includes sessions from returning speakers, Natalie O’Hare, BeyondHR and Rosanne Nixon, Salus Occupational Health to discuss “Managing Hybrid & Flexible Working as well as “Top 10 Tips to Promote & Manage Positive Mental Health at Work.” Another topical workshop directed at home working employees, “Help Save Energy at Home” will be delivered by Scott Driver, Home Energy Scotland.

Other areas range from “Intellectual Property: How to Identify & Protect Your Creative Assets” delivered by Business & IP Centre Glasgow (part of Glasgow Life), to “Problem-Solving and Decision-Making during Change & Transition” which will be delivered by Maricia from Believe-IN who returns for a second year.

Chris Cassidy from Seven Wealth will deliver a session on “Financial planning, giving business owners 7 Tips to Grow Your Wealth”, and Natalie O’Hare from BeyondHR will return at the end of June to deliver an HR focused workshop on “How to Have Difficult Conversations”.

These carefully chosen topics should provide solid advice to help small business owners get back up and running after a difficult two years and will kick off on 7th April with a marketing session run by Alistair Campbell from Two-Hour Digital titled  “The Business Case for Twitter.”

A list of the confirmed online workshops include:
