Visitors to the Lanternhouse Theatre in Cumbernauld can now visit its brand-new café, which is serving an assortment of delicious light snacks, meals, pastries and refreshing drinks.

The café is open from 9am to 4:30pm from Monday to Friday, and offers a selection of filled morning rolls, fish & chips, burgers and assorted sandwiches, toasties and baguettes in the afternoon. The venue also offers a wide choice of coffee, teas, soft drinks and home baking prepared onsite.

Located within the Cumbernauld Academy campus, Lanternhouse opened last year and has outstanding performance spaces including a 300-seat auditorium, a studio theatre, dance studio and an 84-seat cinema.

Martin Hanlon, Facilities Support Services Area Manager with North Lanarkshire Council said: “We are delighted to be able to welcome people into our new café/bistro and give them a wide choice of food and refreshments.

“The theatre café opening will further enhance the experience for visitors to the Lanternhouse. The café is set in a bright and welcoming environment, and we would encourage anyone in the area to come along and enjoy the food and refreshments on offer.”
