School inspectors have praised pupils and staff at St Mary’s PS in a glowing report.
During the inspection, the team observed the work of the headteacher and staff, talked to children and parents/carers, and evaluated the school’s progress.
They identified several strengths in the school’s work, including friendly, polite children who are proud of their school and who display a positive attitude towards learning.
The leadership of the headteacher and principal teacher was praised for their collaborative approach in leading improvements across the school. The staff team, under their guidance, was found to have created a calm and nurturing environment for learning, enabling the children to make good progress in their education.
And the school’s strategic approach to assessment and effective use of data were recognised as having helped staff gain a clear understanding of each child’s strengths and next steps in learning.
“We are absolutely delighted with the outcome of our inspection. It reflects the hard work, dedication and team spirit within our school community,” said Mrs Arlene Kelly, Head Teacher of St Mary’s Primary School.
“We have worked incredibly hard to establish a very positive and supportive culture based on Gospel values and we are delighted that this has been recognised.
“We are extremely proud of everyone involved especially our wonderful children who were praised for being friendly and polite with a very positive attitude to learning.”
