As part of Volunteers Week we’re featuring local volunteers who make such a difference in our communities, first up is Shery Farrelly who works as a Digital Collections Volunteer.

Why Volunteer NL?

"I’ve always wanted to work in a museum. After getting my humanities degree, I learned about local volunteering opportunities. I saw a social media post and thought it would be a great way to gain experience and help the community."

Favourite Part of the Role:

"Volunteering allows me to balance work and home while doing something I enjoy without pressure."

Skills Gained:

"I've gained confidence in my writing and pride in publishing my blog. I love researching collections and connecting them with local history. I look forward to learning more!"
