Pupils have welcomed the significant investment in two primary schools to create bright, new, welcoming teaching spaces

More than £500,000 has been spent to improve the learning environment at Christ the King Primary School in Holytown with the installation of two new additional modular classrooms, providing more space and better facilities for both students and teachers.

These spacious classrooms cover over 60 square meters and include well-equipped washroom facilities.

Meanwhile, at St Barbara’s Primary School in Muirhead, four classrooms have been completely refurbished and new washroom facilities installed at a cost of around £270,000.

Councillor Angela Campbell, Convener of Education, Children and Families, “The new classroom spaces at both schools will help to address capacity issues and allow teachers to create engaging lessons tailored to the needs of their students.

“The new facilities are a clear example of our commitment to providing an enriched learning environment for all pupils.”

Parent councils, elected members, and school staff at both schools have all welcomed the news about the investments in their schools.

In addition to the new classrooms at Christ the King Primary School it has been confirmed that a replacement trim trail will be installed in the playground over the summer, ready for everyone to enjoy in the upcoming school term.

The trim trail will provide a fun and engaging outdoor activity area, promoting physical fitness, and encouraging social interaction among the students.
