The eco-friendly systems installed at the Lorne Gardens sheltered complex in Salsburgh, allows tenants to save money on their fuel costs while reducing the carbon footprint of their homes.

We have invested in renewable technology to install air source heat pumps which absorb heat from the outside air. The pumps can then heat radiators, underfloor heating, warm air convectors and hot water.

Councillor Heather Brannan-McVey, Convener of Housing and Regeneration explained: “This renewable technology will improve the energy performance of homes and help with driving down fuel costs.

“We are also installing battery storage systems which will generate, and store electricity produced via solar panels. This will result in further fuel cost reductions for our tenants.

“We are committed to providing high quality housing, meeting our net zero targets, reducing our tenants’ energy consumption and making homes sustainable for the future.”
