There are two local Remembrance Sunday Services and Parades scheduled to take place on Sunday, 12 November 2023.
The first Service and Parade will be at the War Memorial, Airdrie at 10.45am and the second Service and Parade will be at the Cenotaph, Duchess of Hamilton Park, Motherwell at 3.00pm.
The Royal British Legion Scotland will be holding an event at the Cumbernauld Village Cenotaph at 10.45am. Other locally organised ceremonies may also be taking place in other towns and villages across North Lanarkshire.
In addition, a wreath laying ceremony will also take place at the War Memorial outside the Civic Centre on Armistice Day, Friday 10th November 2023 at 11am.
As we approach Remembrance Sunday on 12th November, the Lanarkshire Lieutenancy currently has plans to lay over sixty wreaths at towns and villages right across North and South Lanarkshire. The Lord Lieutenant, Lady Susan Haughey CBE, or her representatives will be present throughout Lanarkshire attending as many services as possible as we remember the service and sacrifice of all those that have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.
