Registration deadline for two council by-elections

Residents in the Fortissat and Mossend & Holytown council wards are reminded to make sure they are registered to vote ahead of the two by-elections next month. 

To be able to vote in these by-elections, eligible residents must be registered to vote by 12 midnight on Tuesday 24 September.

Registration only takes a few minutes online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote - you only need your National Insurance number and date of birth.  

When you’re registered, you can vote either in person at a polling station or by post or proxy. To arrange for a postal or proxy vote, go to www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/voter 

Applications for new postal votes, postal proxy votes and amendments to, or cancellation of, existing postal or existing proxy votes must be with the Electoral Registration Office by 5.00pm on Wednesday 25 September. Applications for new proxy votes must be received by 5.00pm on Wednesday 2 October.
