Our Recover NL programme has provided a range of equipment and materials to support local groups who volunteer to keep local communities clean and tidy

For the past two years, McClean Team Alba has regularly carried out litter picking activities across Motherwell and the new equipment has helped their volunteering activities.

Group member Helen Boss said: “The support and donation of litter picking equipment from North Lanarkshire Council Community Partnership Team will help our cause significantly.  It will attract new members now that we can provide pickers and bags and allows our more established members to carry out more litter pick-ups.

“Continually running out of bags or litter pickers breaking and needing replaced did place a financial constraint on the group.

“The new equipment allows our group to be more proactive about clearing our streets and parks - making our communities cleaner and safer areas to enjoy.”
