Our Community Partnership Team has delivered a new play area, 'The Marvellous Muirhead Park', for local children and families to enjoy.

The facility, which cost £170,000, was funded through our Local Development Programme,  our Asset and Procurement Service along with financial contributions from housing developers.

The need for a new facility was identified through a consultation process with young people from the area who helped choose equipment installed as part of the final design.

A new range of play equipment was used manufactured from recycled materials, including wood sourced from sustainable forests.

The community partnership team also linked in with Chryston and St. Barbara’s primary schools on a design-a-sign competition, with pupils from each school creating the final design and facility name.

Feedback from local young people has been positive with a new roundabout, swings, chute and climbing net examples of adventurous play experiences now available within the local community.
