Following the announcement that the day of the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on Monday 19 September is a bank holiday, as a mark of respect, all council services will be closed with the exception of essential services such as home support and domestic waste collections.
In addition, recycling centres will be open and a few scheduled events such as civil ceremonies will take place.
If your bin is scheduled for collection on Monday 19 September, please present it as normal.
All front-facing services will be closed all day on 19 September 2022, including all council buildings such as registration services, housing offices, leisure centres, libraries, museums, concert venues, community centres, environmental services, first-stop shops, customer service centre, municipal banks, as well as all schools and early years establishments.
The only exceptions are Airdrie Town Hall, The Link Centre in Cumbernauld and Ravenscraig Regional Sport Centre, which will only remain open for Covid-19 vaccinations (there will be no access to other services in the buildings).
Emergency services will be available for housing repairs and social work services.
All let bookings and arts classes on Monday 19 September 2022 will be cancelled.
Normal operations will resume on Tuesday 20 September 2022.
