Provost Kenneth Duffy visited SkillZone's training centre in Airdrie, a community-focused organisation which provides essential first aid and health training, to learn more about their services and challenges.

SkillZone’s work includes training Scottish Ambulance Service First Responders, running accredited courses with Edinburgh College, and offering CPR and minor injury training for community groups and local businesses across the central belt.

Provost Duffy said: “SkillZone is doing remarkable work to equip our community with life-saving skills and professional health training. Kevin and his team are making a real difference, and it’s inspiring to see their dedication to improving public health.”

SkillZone Operations Director Kevin Lynch added: “Starting SkillZone has been challenging but rewarding. We’re proud of the progress we've made and the positive impact of our free community training programmes and are grateful to Provost Duffy for taking the time to come and find out a bit more about what we do.

“Since we opened in November 2019, SkillZone has grown steadily, offering accredited SCQF qualifications and tailored training sessions from basic awareness to paramedic casualty handling.”
