Overnight road closures will take place at the A71 Horsley Brae later this month to allow essential work to be carried out.
The road will close from the junction with B7011 Brownlee Road northwards for 220 metres from 8.00pm on Monday 29 August until 6:00am on Saturday 03 September 2022.
A signed diversion route will be in place to allow continued access through B7011 Brownlee Road.
The closures will allow the installation of new street lighting, traffic signals and resurfacing works.
We have worked closely with South Lanarkshire Council and the works contractor to organise the work overnight to minimise the disruption to local residents and businesses.
Following a public consultation, a Traffic Regulation Order to change the speed limit on the A71 Horsley Brae to 40mph and to prohibit right hand turn manoeuvres from B7011 Brownlee Road to A71 Horsley Brae will come into force from 22 August.
The work is part of the planned junction improvement project which, when complete, will help to improve traffic flow and road safety. The project is expected to be complete at the end of September.
