Provost Kenneth Duffy has paid tribute to the incredible work of the Lanarkshire Carers charity and the wider voluntary sector for the support they give to individuals and communities across North Lanarkshire.

On a visit to Lanarkshire Carers, the Provost praised their contribution in helping some of the most vulnerable people in our society and providing essential services to improve the quality of life for many residents.

“We are extremely grateful for the incredible contributions that Lanarkshire Carers and the broader charity and voluntary sector make on a daily basis in our communities," said Provost Kenneth Duffy.

"Their dedication and compassion have touched the lives of numerous individuals, and your tireless commitment has not only made a positive impact but also served as an inspiration to us all. The council wholeheartedly acknowledges the crucial role played by voluntary and third sector organisations, including local community groups, in enhancing the well-being of North Lanarkshire's residents.

“The recent Volunteer Week 2023 highlighted the remarkable dedication exhibited by volunteers, a testament to their selflessness and devotion to the community. I would also like to extend my congratulations to Lanarkshire Carers on their well-deserved success in winning the Proud Scotland Award for Small Employer of the Year 2023.”
