Whitelees Primary School in Cumbernauld is the first recipient of new life-saving equipment thanks to local community store SPAR Clyne Condorrat.
The announcement is the result of a year-long endeavour that culminates with the exciting milestone of the first LifeVac device being installed at Whitelees Primary School this week.
In collaboration with Hazkit Ltd, an award-winning safety equipment supplier, SPAR Clyne Condorrat is financing the installation of LifeVac devices in 31 schools throughout the town.
LifeVac is a regulated, non-invasive suction medical device with a patented one-way safety valve designed to dislodge choking obstructions in children when first aid fails or cannot be performed.
"We are thrilled to partner with Hazkit Ltd on this life-saving initiative," said Angela Mason, representing SPAR. "The safety and well-being of children in our community is paramount, and we are confident that these LifeVac devices will provide valuable peace of mind to parents and school staff."
This initiative aims to provide schools with a crucial tool to respond effectively to choking emergencies, potentially saving lives. To date, LifeVac Europe Ltd reports over 3300 lives saved.
Laura Murdoch, Head Teacher of Whitelees Primary School, said: "We are delighted to be the first school in Cumbernauld to receive a LifeVac device as part of this fantastic initiative.
"The safety of our pupils is always at the forefront of everything we do, and access to this life-saving equipment provides an added layer of reassurance for staff and parents. We sincerely thank SPAR Clyne Condorrat and Hazkit Ltd for their generosity and commitment to child safety."
Councillor Michael McBride, Convener of Education, added: "Ensuring the safety and well-being of our children is a top priority, and we are grateful to everyone who made this initiative possible and thank them for all their efforts."
Hazkit Ltd, a leading provider of safety solutions in Essex, has been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition. Their commitment to raising awareness and improving well-being has been invaluable throughout the initiative.
"We feel privileged to have the opportunity to support SPAR in this initiative," said Managing Director Viki Hayman. "LifeVac devices are proven effective in choking emergencies, and we have been working with LifeVac Europe Ltd to raise awareness across the UK for the past two years. We aim for one in every home and business as vital emergency first aid equipment."
This initiative marks a significant step towards enhancing child safety in Cumbernauld. SPAR Clyne Condorrat is committed to ongoing efforts to ensure the well-being of children in the community and looks to continue rolling out to other schools throughout the coming months.
