Community groups and small businesses are invited to apply for grants to help enhance North Lanarkshire’s town centres.
A total of £200,000 is available, with an additional £20,000 for the Northern Corridor communities, for grants through our new Town Centre Fund.
Ideas for eligible projects include:
- events supporting education, environmental issues, health and well-being or campaigns such as shop local
- benches, fencing, or external building repairs
- new green spaces or cycle routes
- heritage links using signage, information points or interactive elements.
“The new Town Centre Fund is part of the council’s work to improve and reshape our town centres, to create modern, attractive spaces that meet the needs of local residents and businesses,” said Councillor Alex McVey, Convener of the Enterprise and Fair Work Committee.
“It gives community groups and businesses an opportunity to put forward their ideas for projects that will improve the environment or create new facilities within each town centre.”
Full details of the Town Centre Fund, including how to apply, are available at www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/town-centre-fund. The deadline for applications is 12 noon on 30 September 2024.
