An area of land in Cumbernauld has been redeveloped to create 39 new allotments for local residents and school children.
The council has formally handed over the site to Airdriehead Community Allotment Group who will lease the site and manage the project.
The group raised £370,000 from the council and the former Campsies Centre (Cumbernauld) Ltd to design and construct the allotments site, located within Cumbernauld Community Park.
Visiting the project, Provost Kenneth Duffy said: “This is a wonderful community initiative which the council is pleased to be able to support, and I wish everyone involved every success.
“The allotments will be a focus for local people, allowing them to grow their own fruit and vegetables, enjoy the fresh air and meet others. It will also provide opportunities for children from local nurseries and primary schools to take part in educational activities.”
