Pupils, parents and staff at Taylor High have welcomed the significant investment in four new classrooms at the school.
Just under £1 million has been spent on creating bright, new, welcoming teaching spaces following the installation of two new modular buildings to address the increasing school roll.
The new facilities also include four washroom areas.
Councillor Angela Campbell, Convener of Education, Children and Families, said, “The new classroom spaces are warm and welcoming and will allow teachers to create engaging lessons tailored to the needs of their students.”
Paul McWatt, Head Teacher of Taylor High School, said: “The new classrooms are a welcome addition to our learning environment as the number of pupils attending our school has risen steadily over the past few years and is expected to be over 1,000 next year.”
“While they are for general use, they will mainly be used for teaching English and Mathematics."
One pupil added: “They are nice and warm and quiet – perfect for learning!”
