A new campaign is offering job seekers in North Lanarkshire employment training and support opportunities.
Television and online adverts highlight the help available to local people from North Lanarkshire’s Working, a free employment service run by the council.
The adverts feature people in different circumstances including school leavers looking for their first job, someone who’s been made redundant and looking to re-train and someone who’s looking for a new job to better suit their skills and experience.
“North Lanarkshire’s Working provides the targeted support jobseekers need to find employment that matches their skills and experience,” said Councillor Alex McVey, Convener of the Enterprise and Fair Work Committee.
“Each person has their own case worker who provides them with one-to-one guidance, including help with CVs and interview skills, confidence building, childcare and training, as well as ongoing support once they’re in a job.”
Over the last four years, North Lanarkshire’s Working has supported over 7,000 people into work.
Adverts will also run on social media featuring local businesses ZL group - a trucking company based in Bellshill and Hair Design Airdrie - who have both have benefitted from North Lanarkshire’s Working free recruitment service.
The service includes help with advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, training and one-to-one support for employees when they start work. Financial assistance is also available to help companies with recruitment.
