Murdostoun by-election result

Independent candidate Robert John McKendrick has been elected to serve as an elected member in council Ward 20 Murdostoun, following a by-election on Thursday 24 June.

The number of first preference votes polled for each candidate was:

  • Robert Livingston Arthur, Independent - 293
  • Nathaniel Edward Hugh Hamilton, Scottish Green Party - 61
  • Cindy MacKenzie, Scottish Conservative and Unionist - 264
  • Julie McAnulty, Independence for Scotland Party - 14
  • Robert John McKendrick, Independent – 1,504
  • Chris Roarty, Scottish Labour Party - 617
  • Billy Ross, ReformUK – Changing Politics for Good - 7
  • Julia Stachurska, Scottish National Party (SNP) - 884

Total of first preference votes: 3,644

The percentage poll was 25.4% and the electoral quota was 1,823.

43 ballot papers were rejected.
