Croy Silver Band is marking an incredible milestone this year as it celebrates its 150th anniversary.

Founded in 1875, the band has been at the heart of the local community for generations, bringing music and tradition to audiences across Scotland and beyond.

Provost Kenneth Duffy and Councillor Heather Brannan-McVey visited the band during a rehearsal at the Antonine Sports Hub to mark the occasion.

They congratulated the musicians and listened to a performance, with trophies from the band’s recent successes proudly displayed.

The band recently secured third place at the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain, highlighting its continued excellence.

Provost Duffy praised the band's achievements, saying: "Reaching 150 years is an extraordinary milestone, and Croy Silver Band should be incredibly proud of its legacy. Their recent success on the national stage reflects the dedication and talent of its members, and I have no doubt the band will continue to thrive for years to come."

Musical Director Kenneth Blackwood also shared his excitement about the anniversary: "We are honoured to celebrate 150 years of Croy Silver Band and to share this special occasion.

"Our focus now is on continuing our rich tradition of brass banding, competing at the Scottish Championships in March, and performing for our local community."

With a year full of celebrations, competitions, and performances ahead, Croy Silver Band remains dedicated to bringing live music to the heart of the community.
