Electors are reminded to use their vote in the UK Parliamentary General Election on Thursday 4 June.
Polling places will be open from 7.00am to 10.00pm. Poll cards, with details of where to vote, have been issued to eligible voters. If anyone has not received their polling card, contact our Election Office on 01698 302058.
“The UK Parliament deals with key issues affecting our everyday lives, such as the economy, health, justice, environment, welfare benefits and defence, so it’s important that people have their say on who represents them at Westminster,” North Lanarkshire Returning Officer Des Murray said.
“Use your vote on 4 July and make your voice heard.”
Anyone voting at a polling station is also reminded to bring an accepted form of photo ID.
“Under new rules, everyone must show photo ID to be able to vote in this election,” Mr Murray added.
“There are a number of forms of ID you can use, including a passport, driver’s licence, Young Scot Card, Scottish National Entitlement Card or a blue badge. So please make sure you have ID with you on Thursday, or you won’t be able to use your vote.”
