Applications are open for funding for community groups across North Lanarkshire to help improve their local environment and build community resilience during winter, as part of the final phase of the Recover NL Fund.

We are inviting groups to submit applications for grants of up to £3,000 for a single application or up to £4,000 for a joint project, which can be used for litter picking equipment, grounds maintenance, planting or other activities.

The grants can also be used for projects that support communities during the winter, such as shovels, torches, gloves, hand push gritters.

£130,000 will be made available to local communities to support this work across the nine Community Boards.

“Earlier this year I met local groups who were doing great work running litter picks and improving green spaces with grass cutting and planting,” said Provost Kenneth Duffy.

“They want to support the council’s work to maintain our towns and villages and play their part in keeping communities clean, safe and attractive for everyone.

“Thank you to everyone who gives their time to help.”

Application and guidance notes can be downloaded from: www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/your-community/community-grants-and-awards/recover-nl-environmental-fund Information will also be shared via all community boards.

For any enquiries, please contact: RecoverNLEnvironmentalFund@northlan.gov.uk

These grants are the final phase of RecoverNL funding provided by the council as part of its action to support communities recover from the impact of the Covid pandemic. The funding will run until March 2024 or until it is utilised.
