Tourism, leisure and events businesses in North Lanarkshire are invited to apply for grant funding to help increase visitor numbers.
North Lanarkshire Council’s Tourism and Events Challenge Fund supports the development of tourism and events in the area through increased visitor numbers and spend, as well as promoting North Lanarkshire as a visitor destination.
“We offer a range of support to businesses in the tourism and leisure sector across North Lanarkshire, helping this important sector of the economy to thrive,” said Councillor Alex McVey, Convener of the Enterprise and Fair Work Committee.
“With grants from the Tourism and Events Challenge Fund, we can help develop businesses to develop their ideas for expansion, new services and facilities.”
Applications will close at 12 noon on Friday 17 May 2024, and projects should be fully completed by 31 March 2025.
This initiative is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda which provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025.
The Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.
