2:23pm - 06 November 2024

Residents in Abronhill are being asked for their views on the current active travel connections to Palacerigg Country Park.

We are running a consultation on walking, cycling and wheeling links between local communities and the park.

The feedback will help inform our masterplan for the future of the park and develop improved connections to make it easier to visit Palacerigg.

“Access to good quality greenspace can have positive effects on our physical and mental wellbeing,” explained Councillor Helen Loughran, Convener of the Environment and Climate Change Committee.

“By investigating the current barriers to active travel from Abronhill to Palacerigg Country Park, we aim to create better connections for local people to visit and enjoy the many benefits of the fantastic facilities within the park.”

An online survey – Project: Abronhill to Palacerigg Country Park - Walking,... | Ethos Consultants - is open until 30 November and a number of face-to-face consultancy sessions will be held in Abronhill. For details of these sessions, please visit Palacerigg Country Park | North Lanarkshire Council or follow @nlccountryparks on Facebook and X.

For more information or to arrange a consultation session with a community group, contact the council’s Greenspace Team at greenspaceprojects@northlan.gov.uk.
