The first-ever Family Funday at Summerlee Museum was a roaring success with more than 100 families joining in the celebrations.

The event was hosted by the Community Learning and Development’s (CLD) Family Learning team in partnership with Active and Creative communities who provided arts, play and sports workshops.

One parent said: “This was an excellent day full of learning and fun, my niece enjoyed it very much, thank you so much”.

The team are already planning other events to build on the day and offer similar experiences which will add to the learning on offer to parents and families they engage with.

“This was a great opportunity to bring families from across North Lanarkshire together to enjoy such a fabulous resource as Summerlee Museum,” said CLD Family Learning Manager Lesley Inglis.

“The day ensured that families were able to experience all the museum has to offer and our team was able to enhance this experience by providing a variety of family learning activities.”

The event took place on Saturday 28 October 2023.
